Let's celebrate July with rubies ❤️

The July birthstone, Ruby, has long been associated with love, passion and protection.

Ancient cultures believed rubies held the power of life because of their rich red colour, often linked to blood, strength and the heart. In India, rubies were known as the “King of Precious Stones” and were treasured for their rarity and beauty.

For centuries, people believed wearing a ruby would bring good fortune, courage and happiness. Warriors once carried rubies into battle, believing the stone would protect them from harm. Today, rubies are thought to represent passion, prosperity and emotional strength.

Where is the July Birthstone found?

Rubies are found in several places around the world, including Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Madagascar.

Rubies belong to the corundum mineral family, the same family as sapphires. Their beautiful red colour comes from traces of chromium within the stone.

Natural rubies often contain tiny inclusions formed during their growth. These small markings are considered part of the stone’s unique beauty and character.
